This 9.5 mm in diameter 160 watt "L" Shape heater element can operate off 220 / 250v electricity only.
Heating Elements
The Ammonia Absorption Refrigerators , Fridges and Freezers use LP Gas or heater elements as a heat source and it is quite easy to locate a fault. The Heater Elements to not usually loose their efficiency in that the heater Element either works or they do not work at all.
If you switch on the power and the Ammonia Absorption Refrigerators , Fridges and Freezers starts to warm up at the back of the unit , this indicates that the Element is working. If the inside Cabinet Evaporator does not show any sign of cold after about an hour or so , this indicates that the Ammonia Absorption Refrigerators , Fridges and Freezers unit is faulty and need to be repaired.
Should the Ammonia Absorption Refrigerators , Fridges and Freezers does not heat up at the back with the heater Element switched on then the Element must be tested with your multi-meter, set on Ohms to see if the Element has gone open circuit (Faulty reading when there is no conditionality between terminals ). Also test the wiring and the thermostat.
Before connecting the Ammonia Absorption Refrigerators , Fridges and Freezers heaters element to the mains supply you need to check and make sure that the heater element is intended to work off the main Electrical supply and not a 12 Volt Battery. Very Often the heater element is made to operate on either 12 Volt or 220volt and incorrect wiring will destroy the Heater Element Instantly. A great rule of thumb her is, if the heater has more than two wires then it is a combination 12Volt DC and 220Volt AC heater Element. The thicker of the wires and the 12 Volt DC heater Element wires.
When replacing an Ammonia Absorption Refrigerators , Fridges and Freezers heater element the following points need to be checked :
- Always replace a heater Element with the same wattage as was specified by the Ammonia Absorption Refrigerators , Fridges and Freezers manufacture
-
Always check that the diameter is correct if it is to loose in the Element tube the heat will not transfer correctly . Further this will cause the Element to have a very short Heater Element life. The Ammonia Absorption Refrigerators , Fridges and Freezers will not operate correctly
-
If the Ammonia Absorption Refrigerators , Fridges and Freezers has a thermostat check to make sure that the thermostat is operating correctly , ,any times the thermostat is in fact faulty and the Heater Element is condemned only to later have to replace the thermostat at a later time.
-
An Ammonia Absorption Refrigerators , Fridges and Freezers Thermostat is different from the normal Refrigeration Gas thermostat and Must be SPECIFIED as Ammonia Absorption Refrigerators , Fridges and Freezers Thermostats when placing and ORDER for the thermostat.
