KIC / Fridgemaster Domestic Fridge / Freezer / Refrigerator Evaporator Fan motor - 220 volt ONLY

 

 

 

These Evaporator fan motors are for KIC/Fridgemaster Fridge/Freezers.or as universal replacements. They replace the Fan inside the Refrigerator cabinet , The Fan impeller blades can normally  be  found inside the Freezer Cabinet behind the air covers  and situated above the evaporator in the freezer compartment and the Fan motor is generally found on the outside of the cabinet , generally hidden behind the condenser Plate, the Condenser Plate has to be removed / moved out the way, to access the fan motor

Be careful not to damage the fan motor holding  bracket when removing this fan motor

Some Tips and Tricks
Before condemning the Evaporator fan motor, check to make sure that the Fan motor is actually faulty, - make sure there is voltage on the fan and it is not turning before condemning - use a multimeter to check for voltage

 

    •  If no voltage check the following
      • Are all cabinet door closed
      • Make sure the Fridge / Freezer / (Refrigerator ) is not in Defrost mode
      • Check Heat fuse / thermal fuse normall in the cabinet near the defrost heaters
    • If the Evaporator fan has been replaced and every thing else is correct but, the Fridge / Freezer ( Refrigerator) is just not coming down to temperature check the following
      • The Evaporator Fan Motor is working Properly
      • The Impeller Fan blade is installed the correct way, NOT Reversed, if the Impeller Fan blades are wrong you get the impression that the fan is moving air but in actual fact very little air is moved and this renders the fan ineffective this causes the Freezer to ice over rapidly and the Fridge  /Freezer (Refrigerator) to be ineffective/ Warm.
        • This is very easily sorted out by simply pulling off the fan blades and reinstalling it , THE OTHER WAY AROUND
      • Exactly the same effect occurs, if the Evaporator fan Motor is TURNING the wrong way, you get the impression that the Evaporator fan is moving enough refrigerated air but in fact very little air is moved and this make the Evaporator fan to be ineffective.
        • Again this is easily sorted out, but you have to have your wits about you, See what direction the fan motor is turning on a workbench (lets say its turning Clockwise). Now disassemble the fan motor you have to take the rotor (the bit that Turns) and the Stator ( the bit with the electrical coil on it) and lay them out exactly as you disassemble.
        • NOW
        • Turn the Stator over.
        • Reassemble with the stator that is now back to front with the rotor in the same direction that you removed it.
      • The Evaporator Fan motor should now, when you test it be turning in a ANTI CLOCKWISE direction)
      • Put the Evaporator fan motor back and test the Fridge / Freezer (Refrigerator)

Be every careful that you do not have a double error with the Evaporator Impeller fan Blades and the Evaporator Fan Motor both going wrong , this still will not move enough air to get the Fridge /Freezer (Refrigerator to operate correctly
